Relatively Quiet New Year's Eve for Sparks and Reno Police

SPARKS, NV – It was a relatively quiet night for the Sparks Police Department. There were no major incidents reported from 2pm Monday afternoon to 2am on Tuesday.

The Sparks Police Department had extra staff patrolling the streets for New Year's Eve. According to police, only 20 citations were given out and nine arrests were made. Three of those arrests were for DUI. The other arrests were for various offenses like warrants, trespassing and domestic battery.

The Reno Police Department say there were 21 arrests for misdemeanors. There were also two gross misdemeanor arrests and only eight people were arrested for DUI.
