STATELINE, NV - Nevada Highway Patrol troopers are still looking for the driver of a pickup who hit a downed pedestrian.
Troopers were called shortly after 3AM Saturday, August 10, to a crash involving a pedestrian struck by a pickup on eastbound US 50 near Lake Parkway in Douglas County.
31-year-old Cody Dobson of Carson City had been walking on the sidewalk or road just east of the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, and ended up lying in the road, possibly having stumbled. When a driver saw him in the road and turned to help, the driver saw a blue Dodge pickup with camper shell hit the pedestrian. The driver of that pickup then drove off and is being sought.
Dobson was initially taken to Barton Memorial Hospital before being flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Cal Star. Troopers say Dobson showed signs of intoxication at the scene and at the hospital. The Nevada Highway Patrol confirms he died August 23.
The Nevada Highway Patrol would like anyone who witnessed this crash or who may have more information about this incident to please contact the agency.
