ELKO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities in northeast Nevada are working to identify the body of a man found dead in a tent near the Humboldt River in Elko.

Elko police Lt. Richard Genseal tells the Elko Daily Free Press (http://bit.ly/1c0zb6x ) the body was found Saturday by children playing paintball off of Opal Drive.

Genseal says it appears the man had been dead for several days, and there aren't any obvious signs of foul play.

A cause of death is pending.

Chief Deputy Elko County Coroner Bill Webb estimates the man's age in the mid- to late 40s.

Webb is using fingerprints to trace the man's identity.
