ELKO, Nev. (AP) - One of two West Wendover High School students
accused of killing a classmate and burying her in the desert near the Utah-Nevada border has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Nineteen-year-old Toni Fratto's sentencing came Monday in Elko after she pleaded guilty in January to second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

She'll be eligible for parole after 10 years, but The Salt Lake Tribune reports she'll have to serve at least eight more years for a weapons enhancement.

Fratto agreed to testify against her ex-boyfriend, Kody Patten.

Both are accused of taking 16-year-old Micaela "Mickey" Costanzo to a remote area March 3, 2011. Costanzo was struck in the head with a shovel and her throat was slit before she was buried in a shallow grave.
