CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval is in the Middle East visiting with troops in the war zones of Iraq and elsewhere.
In a surprise conference call Tuesday from Kuwait, Sandoval says he left Nevada on Monday and is touring the region with the governors of Utah, Kentucky and Tennessee.

The first-term Republican governor says he's impressed with the courage and fortitude of the men and women in the armed forces.
Sandoval says the group was in Baghdad and visited other military bases in the region.
He will return home this weekend. Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki is acting governor in Sandoval's absence.
