RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada was one of only 19 U.S. states that added construction jobs between October and November but still ranks second to last in the country in terms of loss of construction workers compared to a year ago.

According to the Associated General Contractors of America analysis of Labor Department data, Nevada ranked third in the country in monthly gain, up 3.1 percent with 1,500 new jobs.

That trailed only Vermont's 4.4 percent and Louisiana's 4 percent gains.

Compared to the same time a year ago, Nevada's construction sector is down 8.2 percent or 4,400 jobs. Only Delaware was worse at 8.9 percent.

Nevada's overall unemployment rate dropped to 10.8 percent last month, the lowest it's been in more than three years and the most significant monthly improvement since April 2005.
