NHP Identifies Truck Driver and Two Passengers Killed in Train Accident

FALLON, NV - The names of three of the victims in Friday's fatal Amtrak train crash have been released.

Forty-three-year-old Lawrence Valli of Winnemucca died when the semi-trailer he was driving collided with the left side of a westbound Amtrak train at a railroad crossing in Fallon Friday killing five others and injuring several.

NHP says 58-year-old Francis Knox and according to our sister station in Lincoln, Nebraska, was traveling with her grand-daughter 18-year-old Annie Karly Knox of Nebraska when the California Zephyr Amtrak train collided with the truck, killing them.

As soon as the other victims involved in this horrific tragedy are identified, NHP says they will release their names.

There are still 4 passengers unaccounted for as of Monday.

The Major Accident Investigation Team of the Nevada Highway Patrol-Northern Command is continuing to work very closely with the National Transportation Safety Board on this crash.
