NHP Releases DUI Checkpoint Totals

RENO, NV--Six people were arrested in a DUI checkpoint over the weekend.

NHP says five drivers were arrested for driving under the influence, while the fifth arrest was a pedestrian who was walking near the checkpoint and urinated in public.

Four of the DUI arrests were for alcohol, while the fifth was for Marijuana. 28 other traffic citations were issued.

808 drivers passed through the temporary roadblock on North Virginia Street near Lawlor Events Center.

This checkpoint was funded through a 'Joining Forces' grant. Officers from Reno, Sparks, Washoe County, and UNR joined NHP in the checkpoint.
