NDOW Releases Two Bears Back Into Wild

RENO, NV - Two nuisance bears were released back into the wild by NDOW officials this weekend, according to an official with NDOW.

NDOW officials say one of the bears was captured on the west side of Carson City on Friday; it was released by NDOW on Saturday, November 16, 2013 sotuh of Gardnerville in the Carson Range.

This male bear was captured once before in Washoe Valley about three weeks ago, according to the official.

The second bear, a female, was captured in Zephyr Cove on Saturday, November 16, 2013, and was released this morning in the mountains above her capture site, according to the official.

NDOW officials say this particular female bear had not been previously captured. Officials estimated her to be 8-years-old.
