Minden Man Dies in US 395 Collision in Gardnerville

A collision on US 395 in Gardnerville kills one and injures another.

GARDNERVILLE, NV - A collision on US 395 in Gardnerville kills one and injures another.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol around 1:55 p.m. Monday,30-year-old Mathew Autre was killed when he attempted to turn left in his Cavalier on US 395 to head south from Virginia Ranch Road. NHP says he failed to yield to right of way and collided with a pick up truck.

The driver of the truck, 59-year-old Natale Lommori of Wellington struck the left side of Autre's car and then slid across US 395 right into a cement block.

Autre was transported by Care Flight to Renown Medical center in Reno where he later succumbed to his injuries. Lommori was transported to Carson Valley Medical Center by ground ambulance where he was treated for his injuries and released.

US 395 was partially blocked for approximately 3 hours. Traffic was down to 1 lane and traffic was being routed by the accident scene.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this accident.
