Man Who Killed Metzker Gets Probation

RENO, NV - The man who hit and killed KTVN sports director JK Metzker last year has been sentenced to probation and community service.

Ryan Rhea was sentenced in Washoe District Court Friday morning to five years probation and service that will involve education related to driving and working with Metzker's family in some capacity.

Metzker was hit while walking across North Virginia Street after drinking at the Little Waldorf restaurant after a Wolf Pack football game last November. Rhea drove off and was arrested that weekend, charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing death. While there was evidence he had been drinking, it didn't match the level needed to prosecute for DUI.
