RENO, NV - Reno police have arrested a Reno man accused of stabbing a man in the downtown area.
Around 5PM Tuesday, RPD detectives were in the police station parking lot on 2nd Street when they heard a woman screaming for help. She said she saw a man attacking someone on the riverbank.
Bicycle officers checked the riverbank area and found a victim by the bridge on 2nd Street. The victim was beaten up and had stab wounds to the head. Police then tracked 40-year-old Clifton Johnny nearby, with indications he had been involved in an altercation. Police also found the victim’s cell phone with Johnny.
Police say the victim’s injuries are non-life-threatening. They don't know if this was a random attack or if the two know each other.
Johnny is charged with battery to commit mayhem, robbery with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon and resisting a public officer.
