DOUGLAS COUNTY, NV - All areas affected by the major phone outage in Douglas and parts of Lyon County have been restored, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Douglas County officials say internet connection, landline telephone and cell phone connectivity has been restored. Included is the all important 911 emergency line that no longer has to be rerouted to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

The cause appeared to be a fiberoptic line that was severed by contract crews working on a water line in the region of the Johson Lane area of Douglas County

Crews from Frontier Communications responded to the location of the severed cable and began to make repairs at approximately 12:50 p.m.
