GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) - A longtime criminal defense lawyer and public defender has been sworn in as the newest district court judge in Douglas County
Tod Young was sworn in Friday after being appointed by Gov. Brian Sandoval to fill the final two years of Judge David Gamble's six-year term. Gamble retired last month after 25 years on the bench.
The 54-year-old Young graduated from the Mississippi College School of Law and was admitted to the Nevada bar in 1985. He has served as an adjunct professor and a guest lecturer at Truckee Meadows Community College and Western Nevada Community College.
