Gold Ranch Casino Robbery May Have Been an Inside Job

Like a scene straight out of a movie, police arrest two men suspected of robbing the Gold Ranch Casino Monday morning. The clincher: one of the suspects is an employee of the establishment.

RENO, NV - Police have arrested two suspects in the Gold Ranch Casino robbery that they believe may have been an inside job.

According to police, 30-year-old Edward Lozano was an on-duty employee of Gold Ranch Casino at the time of the robbery Monday morning that amounted to more than $100,000 in money loss. The other suspect, 26-year-old Joshua Kimbell is an associate of Lozano.

RPD Detectives and the Patrol Crime Suppression Team detained Lozano and Kimbell, at separate downtown hotels and located some money from the robbery on both suspects.

After executing several search warrants in Reno and Sparks, detectives recovered a substantial amount of the cash stolen in the robbery.

Both men were arrested and booked into the Washoe County Jail.
