RENO, Nev. (AP) - A lawyer for the Nevada trucking firm whose driver was in a fatal crash with an Amtrak train says the company was not at fault in either of the two previous accidents state safety regulators cited it for the last two years
Lawyer Steven Jaffe says the family-owned John Davis Trucking Co. based in Battle Mountain is proud to stand on its safety record. He says company officials are as anxious as everyone else to find out why its driver slammed into the side of the passenger train June 24, killing him and five others.
He says the company is cooperating with all investigators. He says he can't discuss the findings so far. But he told The Associated Press on Thursday "there's a lot more than meets the eye."
