INCLINE VILLAGE, NV - The suspect in an armed robbery at a Chevron in Incline Village has been sentenced to seven to 23 years in prison.

Jorge Miranda-Rivas of Incline Village had been found guilty in Washoe District Court on one count each of Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, Discharging a Weapon from within a Structure, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Grand Larceny of an Automobile for his part in the robbery January 2, 2013 at the Chevron on Tahoe Boulevard.

About 8:45PM, Miranda-Rivas walked into the Chevron, face masked by a bandana, and wearing a heavy jacket and hood. He demanded money from the clerk, hit the clerk, fired a revolver inside the store and ran off with cash. There were no other patrons in the store at the time of the robbery.

A Washoe County Sheriff’s Office investigation led to the arrest of Miranda-Rivas and two juvenile suspects on January 10. A fourth suspect, Jorge Torres, was arrested in June. Torres and the juveniles pleaded guilty; one juvenile is already serving a sentence and the other was adjuticated as an adult and is awaiting sentencing, as is Torres.
