TONOPAH, CA - One woman was killed in a crash west of Tonopah on US Highway 6 in Esmerelda County Wednesday night.
Troopers were called to the scene about 6:30PM. They say 54-year-old Becky Olsen of Harpster, Idaho was driving a green Subaru Outback westbound, and drifted off the road's edge. Troopers say she over-corrected the car’s steering to the left, which caused the car to rotate counter-clockwise before it overturned. Olsen was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car and killed.
Her husband was taken to Nye Regional Medical Center in Tonopah for treatment of what troopers say are minor to moderate injuries. He was wearing a belt. He was discharged Thursday morning.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which is still under investigation.
