PYRAMID LAKE, NV - BLM fire crews have contained a 2400-acre fire east of Pyramid Lake. That's according to Sierra Front, as of 8 AM Friday. It started Wednesday evening, apparently with a lightning strike. The size of the fire was believed to be 3000 acres, but it was downgraded when the area was remapped.
It's in a very remote desert area east of Pyramid, north of Nixon, and west of Highway 447.
No people or buildings were threatened, according to Sierra Front.
But travelers on Highway 447 headed to Burning Man should still be on the lookout for occasional smoke and emergency vehicles.
This fire burned on Tribal Land on the Pyramid Indian Reservation.
