RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Sparks casino worker has been arrested on suspicion of extortion after police say he posed as a 17-year-old boy on Facebook in a ploy to get compromising photos of a 16-year-old girl.
Police say 34-year-old Jimmy Gallegos was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly threatened to share the photographs with the girl's classmates if she didn't give him more or agree to meet with him.
School police chief Mike Mieras told the Reno Gazette-Journal Gallegos told the girl on Facebook he was a local high school student last month. The girl eventually contacted school officials and undercover officers posed as the girl in more Facebook discussions with Gallegos.
Police subpoenaed his cellphone records and arrested him at his home on Tuesday. His bail was set at $20,000 bail.
