A drug-trafficking ring that is believed to be responsible for regularly distributing meth here in northern Nevada has been broken up. Eight people have been arrested.

The task force first started investigating the group back in August for delivering and distributing meth to the Reno/Sparks area once a month.

In December, the task force intercepted two separate deliveries- totaling nearly two pounds-with a street value of more than $61,000. They also seized a gun with a shaved-off serial number and two cars.
The investigation led police to the suspected leader of the ring. It's been operating out of Modesto, CA.

Right now 5 of the 8 suspects have been identified.

Artemio Moreno-Morfin and Joel Ibarra-Delgado, both from Modesto, are charged with:

Possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

Aaron Romero-Luquin and Francisca Baltazar-Zarate, both from Reno, are charged with:

Trafficking meth,

Possession of meth for sale,

Transporting a controlled substance.

Roselio Leon-Reyes is charged with trafficking.
