Discover Your Nevada

RENO, NV - Tourism is Nevada’s biggest money maker, but most often it's visitors from out of state who enjoy what our area has to offer.

Governor Brian Sandoval says he plans to take a series of road trips to discover the different regions of the Silver State, and he's asking you to do the same.

Friday he and Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki kicked off the “Discover Your Nevada” campaign, challenging residents to a staycation this year.

They want you to consider spending your vacation time and dollars here in Nevada checking out some of the many sites like the Fairview Faults near Fallon, Fort Churchill, or Tonopah.

You can also go online to vote for your favorite place to stop.

The state is split up into 5 different regions, and one cultural category where you can list your favorites.

You can also follow the Governor as he and Krolicki travel across the state.

While you’re learning about the state's best vacation spots and hidden gems, you'll also be helping our economy.

“The tourism industry, hospitality industry in Nevada employs almost a third of our citizens so it's terribly important,” says Krolicki. “Always has been, always will be.”

Voting starts March 19th.
