RENO, NV - Nevada Highway Patrol troopers say all lanes are back open on southbound I-580 just before Mill Street after a crash involving three vehicles about 8AM Thursday.

NHP says the investigation so far indicates the driver of a gray BMW was slowing down due to congested traffic in front of her when she was struck in the left rear by a gray Ford SUV. At the same time, a yellow Chevy work van struck the right rear of the Ford SUV, forcing it into the center concrete wall. All three vehicles were stopped blocking the #1 travel lane. The driver and passenger of the Ford SUV and the driver of the Chevy van where transported to Renown Regional Medical Center with claimed injuries. The driver of the BMW was uninjured.

The drivers of the Ford and Chevy have been cited for following too closely. Troopers say impairment is not a factor in this accident.

The roadway was partially blocked for approximately 1½ hours.
