LAMOILLE, Nev. (AP) - The Elko County Sheriff says a longtime cowboy is dead after being thrown from his horse at a ranch in Lamoille.
Authorities say 60-year-old Bill McKnight was killed Wednesday while working with cows.
Sheriff Jim Pitts says ranch hands performed CPR on McKnight until deputies and paramedics arrived. McKnight was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pitts tells the Elko Daily Free Press (http://bit.ly/10S4oBa) that McKnight worked on Elko-area ranches for as long as he could remember.
