OROVADA, NV - A consumer session is scheduled in regards to Humboldt Telephone Co.'s Rate Application that proposes to increase its basic monthly residential rate by 40 percent, according to the Public Utitlities Commission of Nevada (PUCN).
PUCN scheduled the consumer session for the public's comments on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Orovada Community Center on 65 Rock Creek Road, according to PUCN.
Humboldt Telephone Co.'s rate would remain at $20 for businesses, but would increase customers in rural areas of Humboldt and Elko from $10 to $14, according to PUCN.
Humboldt Telephone Co. is also seeking $185,918 from the Nevada Universal Service Fund. to help maintain rates at reasonably comparable levels to urban rates, according to PUCN.
During the meeting, public comment will be limited to the contents of the rate application, according to PUCN.
Humboldt Telephone Co. and PUCN representatives will be available to hear comments and answer questions.
