RENO, NV - Firefighters are mopping up after a small brush fire in north Reno early Tuesday afternoon.

Flames broke out in brush near Nevada Truck Driving School and Ahern Rentals, south of Parr Boulevard on North Virginia Street. Battalion Chief Bob Knoll tells KOLO 8 News Now a witness watched someone in a white pickup toss a cigarette out a window just before the fire started, but the witness didn't get license plate information.

The fire was contained at roughly 50x100 feet. Structures were threatened briefly and North Virginia Street was temporarily shut down during the firefight. It has since been reopened.
