FALLON, Nev. (AP) - The superintendent of the Churchill County School District for the last seven years has announced her resignation.
Carolyn Ross submitted her letter of resignation to district officials in Fallon on Monday effective that day.
Ross was the first woman to serve as superintendent of the district. She didn't give a reason for leaving. But the Lahontan Valley News reports that she filed a lawsuit against the district's board of trustees last week alleging a breach of contract.
District Special Services Director Will Jensen said in a statement that the board will consider appointment of an interim superintendent at its meeting Thursday night.
