ELKO, Nev. (AP) - The Bureau of Land Management is offering training for volunteer firefighters in Elko County.
Free classes are being offered in Wells, Spring Creek and Carlin, and are scheduled from January to March as part of the Ready Reserve Program.
Fire officials say rural and community fire departments play a critical role in the initial response to wild land fires. The program is designed to enhance safety, effectiveness and local response capabilities.
