ELKO, NV - The Elko District, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) invites the public to take a tour of Cherry Spring within the Maverick-Medicine Herd Management Area (HMA) to view where a wild horse water/bait trapping gather operation is planned.
District wild horse and burro specialists and management are offering an opportunity for the public to see first-hand the range conditions that exist at this limited water source as well as learn how a water trap gather operation works, according to the Elko District Office.
The tour is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 27,2013, at 8:00 a.m.
The tour is expected to last for five hours.
Participants will walk over gravel and dirt roads.
The BLM recommends a 4-wheel drive vehicle that participants should bring a bag lunch, plenty of water and sunscreen.
The tour will leave from the Elko District Office, but public can leave from the tour at their leisure.
