CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford
is proposing a bill amendment to limit tax deductions taken by the mining industry.
Horsford specifically wants to exclude deductions for lobbying, employee housing, severance pay, trade association dues, mineral
exploration, and state and federal taxes.
The amendment to SB493 setting up a mining oversight commission
would also restrict allowable deductions to activities within Nevada.
The Senate Committee on Revenue was to take up the bill Wednesday.
