'After Dark' Event Offers Scientific Fun for Teens

RENO, NV - The Discovery is hosting a teens-only event tomorrow, January 24, 2014 with special projects for middle school students.

From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. middle school students are invited to attend The Discovery's 'After Dark' event. Officials with The Discovery say the event will feature a variety of events, such as hands-on science experiments, projects, in addition to a live DJ.

Students can enjoy a two-story ping pong challenge, heat shrink jewelry, homemade hydrogen balloons, flying tea bags and a glass blowing demonstration, according to the official.

Tickets can be purchased for $10 for Discovery members and $15 for nonmembers.

The official says this is a drop-off event; parents are not required to chaperone.
