RENO, NV - An evacuation sent about 5:30 PM on air via EAS appears to have been in error. It reported non-existent widespread emergency evacuations in several northern Nevada counties.

However, police agencies in counties other than Lyon and Douglas aren't reporting evacuations. The only confirmed VOLUNTARY and PRECAUTIONARY evacuations are in Douglas and Lyon counties for small pockets of areas affected by the Bison Fire.

We apologize for the alert that appears to have been sent accidentally. Emergency officials are working to track how the message was sent.
