ELKO, Nev. (AP) - A Nevada woman has been bound over to district court in the 2007 death of her mother.
Teresa Mae Wise, of Deeth, faces either a charge of first-degree murder or, in the alternative, second-degree murder.
Her mother, 76-year-old Mary Lou Wise, died in 2007 of asphyxia and blunt force trauma. She sustained injuries to her head, neck and torso.
Mary Wise's body was found above ground but covered in dirt, mulch and wood. She was found wrapped in several layers of duct tape.
Investigators have said Teresa Wise made incriminating statements and admitted killing a woman, but claimed the victim was an "impostor" and not her real mother.
On Thursday at a preliminary hearing Justice of the Peace Al Kacin bound Teresa Wise over to district court.
