UPDATE: Police arrested a 17-year-old Thursday night in connection with a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy dead. The suspect is facing open murder charges. The investigation is still on-going and anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Reno Police Department Robbery/Homicide Unit at 334-2155 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.

UPDATE: Police say doctors pronounced the shooting victim dead just before midnight. He had internal bleeding and was severely wounded, contrary to initial reports. This is now being treated as a homicide.

Those involved in the shooting fled the scene before police arrived. Friends of the shooting victim dropped him off at Saint Mary's, and police later pulled over that vehicle at another location. Those in the car are now at the police station and being questioned. Police are still investigating what happened leading up to the shots fired; no suspects have been caught at this time.

RENO, NV - Reno police are Thursday morning still investigating a shooting near the McDonald's at Oddie and Silverada Boulevard around 10pm Wednesday. They weren't sure there was a shooting when they couldn't find a victim, but shortly after, a man walked into Renown Medical Center saying he had been shot while driving near that McDonald's. Police say shell casings have been found in the area. This is the second shooting of the evening, following a gang-related shooting on Kirman and Casazza Streets.
