RENO, Nev. (AP) - Flu season has officially arrived in Washoe County.
The Washoe District Health Department reports it has received the first, culture-confirmed case of seasonal influenza.
Health officials say getting an annual flu vaccine is the best way to avoid getting sick.
They also advise washing your hands often, and if soap and water
isn't available, to use a hand sanitizer.
Cover your mouth and nose when sneezing, and avoid touching your
mouth and nose otherwise.
Staying away from crowds also helps.
And if you're not feeling well, health officials say to stay home to prevent spreading the flu.
