RENO, Nevada (KOLOTV.com) -- The Nevada Highway Patrol says one person is dead and at least one other person injured in a crash on Interstate 80 early Monday (12/22) morning.
Trooper Chuck Allen says a semi-truck and a sport utility vehicle collided on eastbound I-80, east of Sparks, near Mustang.
The driver of the SUV, a man, died at the scene. One other person, a woman, was trapped in the SUV, but has since be extricated and taken to a hospital.
Both eastbound lanes were closed for more than an hour. As of 7:20 a.m., the NHP opened one eastbound lane to get traffic moving.
