RENO, Nevada (KOLOTV.com) -- Numbers released Friday (12/19) from Nevada's Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation show the state's November unemployment rate at 8.0%.
The Carson City area came in at 8.1%; the Reno-Sparks area is at 7.8%; and the Las Vegas area is at 7.9%. Meanwhile, the Elko area is 4.1%.
The 8% statewide rate is nearly 3% higher than last November, when it was 5.1%. The November rate is also 0.4% higher than October's rate.
In Washoe County, 18,180 people were unemployed in November; that's 1,330 more people than in October. November's unemployment rate equates to 7.8%; October's was 7.2%.
In Carson City, 2,410 people were unemployed in November; that's 180 more people than in October. November's unemployment rate equates to 8.1%; October's was 7.5%.
THE LOWEST & HIGHEST
The counties with the lowest unemployment rates are Elko & Eureka, which are both at 4.4%. The county with the highest unemployment rate is Lyon, at 10.7%. Nye County is second highest at 10.5%
