RENO, Nevada (KOLOTV.com) -- A drunk driver caused a 4 car crash on I-80 early this morning, leaving one driver in critical condition and injuring an Reno Police officer.
According to officers on the scene, a driver pulled onto westbound I-80 from the Virginia exit heading in the wrong direction, around 1:00 am.
The driver crashed head-on into one car, flipping the oncoming vehicle before then plowing into an R.P.D. patrol car and then hitting another oncoming vehicle at the Wells exit.
The wrong-way driver is 26-year-old Cassandra Ann Mercado of Sparks. She was sent to Renown Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.
The roadway re-opened at about 6:45 a.m.
