FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) - Fernley wants its own flag.
The city's Arts and Culture Commission is holding a contest for a flag design, to be approved by the city council in November.
The winning entry is worth $100. Second and third-place designs will get a $50 gift certificate.
Entrants must live or work in Fernley. Judging will be based on simplicity, symbolism, color, distinctiveness and legality.
The deadline to enter is Oct. 17. Contest rules and entry forms are available at the city's Web site: www.cityoffernley.org.
