PYRAMID LAKE, NV - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office reports a man and boy were successfully rescued on Pyramid Lake Friday evening.

Sgt. Bill Devine says wind picked up on the lake and pushed a boy, who was on a boat, away from a man who was on a different boat. The adult called 911 for assistance.

Neither of the boats had a working motor.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office was called in to help, but before they could arrive, rangers from Pyramid Lake got in a boat and rescued both the boy and the man.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Sgt. Devine warns people to be careful as they head out to enjoy the lake this spring and summer. Winds and pick up quickly and people can get blown far away from the shore.
