RENO, Nev. (AP) - Officers in Reno and Sparks say a woman was injured in a drive-by shooting that was gang related.
The woman, 34, was shot in the arm while standing in her apartment near 9th and Sutro streets in Reno around 9 p.m. Monday. She was treated at a hospital and released.
One witness reported seeing known gang members leaving the area in a white sport utility vehicle, possibly an early to mid 1990's Jeep.
About two hours later, Sparks police say shots were fired at a residence near Prospect and 17th streets. Police recovered more than 10 spent shell casings at the scene. No one was hit.
Regional Gang Unit officers say the targets in that shooting are possibly those who fired the shots earlier in Reno.
