The Sierra Safari Zoo needs at least $12,000 each month to keep it's animals fed and sheltered. This year, with the rising costs of gas and recall concerns, the price of food has also gone up.
As the cold temperatures and snowy weather begin in Norther Nevada, the Sierra Safari Zoo must close admission gates and rely on the generosity of the community for operating costs.
If you'd like to donate money, to help keep the zoo up and running, please click on Hot Topics for contact information. The Sierra Safari Zoo is a 501(c)(3) non-profit division of the Sierra Nevada Zoological Society. The Zoo runs with an all volunteer staff.
