RENO, Nev. (AP) - Students at the University of Nevada, Reno are challenging their University of Nevada, Las Vegas rivals to draw blood.
The Associated Students of the University of Nevada on Tuesday announced a blood drive competition to benefit United Blood Services. It coincides with the annual matchup for the Fremont Cannon between the schools' football teams, this year being played Oct. 2 in Las Vegas.
The blood drive will begin Monday and run through Oct. 1, the day before the game.
The association says United Blood Services will provide two buses at the Reno campus, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., where students and others in the community can go to donate blood.
Buses will be parked in front of the Joe Crowley Student Union and Nye Hall.
