CHICAGO (AP) - A verdict in the trial of three activists accused of plotting terrorist attacks during the 2012 NATO summit will be read later Friday.

The Cook County court announced Friday afternoon that jurors had reached a verdict after deliberating for around six hours over two days. It said the verdict would be read at 4 p.m. Friday.

The activists are facing terrorism charges under a rarely invoked state statute.

Prosecutors say the trio planned Molotov cocktail attacks on President Barack Obama's campaign headquarters, Mayor Rahm Emanuel's house and other targets in Chicago.

But the men's lawyers say they acted more like drunken goofs than terrorists. They say their clients were goaded to into considering the plot by undercover officers.
