CHARLOTTE, NC - CNN confirmed Thursday morning that former NBC news anchor Tom Brokaw was taken to the hospital while covering the Democratic National Convention.
A network spokesperson said Brokaw felt "light-headed" on the set of the program "Morning Joe."
"Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital. He is being evaluated and is in good spirits," the spokesperson said in a statement.
A former anchor of NBC's "Nightly News," Brokaw, 72 years old, now serves as a special correspondent for the network, where he reports and offers analysis for a variety of programs.
