WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama plans to meet Wednesday in Poland with the billionaire confectioner who has been elected Ukraine's new president.
The White House on Friday announced the bilateral meeting with President-elect Petro Poroshenko while revealing details of Obama's four-day trip in Europe next week.
The trip begins with a celebration in Warsaw to mark 25 years since Poland emerged from communism. Obama later plans to meet Group of Seven leaders in Brussels before heading to Paris. His final day will be in Normandy, marking the 70th anniversary of the Allied landing.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also plans to be in Normandy. But the White House says Obama has no plans for any formal or one-on-one meeting with Putin even though they will be at the same events
