GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A life-sized Abraham Lincoln is about to go on the auction block alongside other historical figures and scenes at the American Civil War Wax Museum in Gettysburg.

The Pennsylvania museum has occupied a prime spot near the center of the 1863 battlefield for more than half a century. But it recently changed hands and closed down for extensive renovation.

When it reopens later this year under the new name, the Gettysburg Heritage Center, exhibits will focus on the experience of town residents around the time of the Civil War battle.

As part of the makeover, the March 15 auction will feature diorama contents, tapestries, a reproduction of Gilbert Stuart's 1796 portrait of George Washington and dozens of historical figures - most made of vinyl, not wax.
