LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in central Pennsylvania say an early morning fire has killed four people and sent seven others to the hospital.

Officials in Lancaster County say the blaze broke out at about 3 a.m. Thursday in a home in Lancaster.

County coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni confirms that four people died in the blaze. He says autopsies are scheduled for Friday.

Fire Chief Timothy Gregg tells The (Lancaster) Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era that 14 people were in the house and one person in the garage when the blaze broke out. He says several families lived in the home, and it appears there weren't enough smoke detectors.

Gregg says the condition of the seven people taken to the hospital wasn't immediately available. Two were children.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
