NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a chain-reaction crash that ended on a sidewalk has critically injured three people in Manhattan.
It happened around 1 p.m. Monday at East 102nd Street and Park Avenue in the East Harlem neighborhood. The New York Fire Department says four people were hurt. At least one was a pedestrian, but a department spokesman had no details.
The Daily News says it appears the chain of events started when a taxi struck a truck. It says the truck then went onto the sidewalk.
The accident came hours after a 22-year-old driver in Queens jumped a curb in a crash that killed two men on the sidewalk. That driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
