NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 39-year-old man jumped to his death in an apparent suicide from the top floor of a luxury Manhattan hotel where the Los Angeles Angels were staying.
The baseball team was in town Tuesday to play the Yankees in their season-opener. The 1:05 p.m. game went on as scheduled and all the players were accounted for.
Police say the man jumped around 8:15 a.m. from the pool area of the Le Parker Meridien and fell onto 56th Street. He was not a guest.
The hotel has more than 731 rooms and suites that range in price from $300 to $700.
